Service Description
This camp will help climbers with prior introductory experience to outdoor climbing deepen their skills and confidence on outdoor rock. They will receive further rope management instruction from the professional guides of Sylvan Rocks (AMGA Certified) and climbing strategies & techniques from Basecamp’s Head Coach (a 5.13 rope climber). Skills covered: Rope Management Gear Knowledge Multiple Methods for Tying In to Your Harness Belaying Techniques and Devices Setting Top-Rope Anchors Rope Clipping Techniques Climbing Skills Movement Development: • Advanced Footwork (especially in trusting bad feet) • Dispersing Weight to Obtain Rest/Recovery on Route (i.e. kneebars, stemming, etc.) • Maximizing Holds (Hands AND Feet) Analyzing Climbs • Choosing the Right Climb • Reading Routes • Pre-Locating Rests • Projecting Strategies Climbing Efficiency • Relaxing Grip • Shaking Out • Movement Efficiency
